8th Graders Dissect Flowers

In science class, 8th graders are currently learning about genetics. To discover the role of genetics in botany, students dissected flowers to uncover various anatomy and parts, both seen and unseen. This hands-on activity allowed students to create hypotheses, compare and contrast flower breeds, and make new conclusions about the variables of genetics. Thank you to all who donated bouquets of flowers for this experiment!

Students Create Cave Paintings

7th grade Geography students are learning about Southwest Asia and prehistoric times. Student groups were each given unique scenes to draw from to create a story and a cave painting. What a fun learning opportunity for students to experience how prehistoric people expressed themselves through symbols, colors and icons.

Seniors Olivia Do and Bryson Roberts Named as National Merit Semifinalists

DCHS Seniors Olivia Do and Bryson Roberts were named as National Merit Semifinalists for their outstanding academic accomplishments! They are being honored with approximately 16,000 students from across the nation who qualified for this honor.
